True inspiration to live can only come from God

Over a decade ago, Oprah Winfrey inspired thousands of people to live their best lives. Since that time, self-help gurus have followed similar patterns offering coaching services, mentorships, retreats, financial strategies and countless other programs and resources to aid others finding joy, fulfilling their dreams and maintaining inspired lives. The truth of the matter is this: “Authentic, long lasting inspiration can never come from men, their programs or things. True inspiration to live can only come from God.”

In John 10:10 the Bible declares that Jesus Christ came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. The journey to an abundant life – meaning complete wholeness - begins with Him and the path to obtain it is hidden in the Word of God.

One of the most important steps you can take right now in obtaining abundant life is embracing bible intake. It’s simple, and it helps you develop a love and a thirst for God’s Word. Bible intake is the deliberate practice of reading the Bible every single day, and then taking some time to meditate on and perhaps journal concerning what you have learned. There are many things that the scripture teaches that inspires the people of God to live their best lives. Some of those teachings are as follows:

  • We are the heirs of God. (Romans 8:17)
  • Christ has made us kings and priests and we will reign on the earth with him. (Revelations 5:1)
  • We are a chosen people, a royal priest and a holy nation. (1 Peter 2:9)

Who wouldn’t want to do whatever was required to gain that kind of inheritance?

The Word of God exists, in part, to inspire us to do and be the all that God created us to be. It is a reminder of our potential and the hope that He has in our success. By taking in what is written, meditating on and even memorizing these promises, we are teaching, training and empowering ourselves to think differently, to act differently and most of all to live differently.

Hebrews 4:12 ESV says, “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

This passage confirms that secret to true joy is hidden in the inspiration of the scriptures. Are there other things you can do to live your best life in God? Sure there are. But meditating on God’s word is right at the beginning.

Be inspired to chart a refreshing course for your life. Practice taking in the Word of God.

John 3:16 (Amplified Bible)

For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He gave up His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in
(trusts in, clings to, relies on)
shall not perish
but have eternal life.
